Phred Steer

Phred is the driving force behind TYP – the idea, the energy and the conviction that a disjointed recruitment industry needed a genuine reset. A hands-on leader with a career built across recruiting, software, consulting and SaaS markets, he’s worked across startups, growth-stage businesses and consultancy, with deep expertise in GTM strategy, business development and talent.
Phred leads TYP’s vision, partnerships and candidate-facing work.
Outside of work: Phred is a dedicated ultra runner — which, when you’ve also got a teenage family at home, probably makes perfect sense. He keeps himself sharp the hard way, on long trails and short deadlines alike.
Lee Gartside
Co-Founder · The Architect · The Professor

Lee is the technical mind that turned TYP from a vision into a working platform. An IT Systems Architect and technology leader with 20 years+ delivering secure, scalable enterprise systems across the most regulated industries – financial services, telecommunications, and education – he doesn’t just understand how platforms should be built. He’s spent two decades building them properly.
When TYP says verified means verified, Lee is the reason that’s true.
Outside of work: Lee is a committed endurance athlete who has completed a 70.3 Ironman. He favours the long, hard routes in most things, professionally and personally. Above all, he’s a proud father of three and grandfather.
Ricky Nutt

Ricky is the commercial engine behind TYP’s growth. A global recruitment leader with a career spanning Europe, Americas and APAC, he’s built high-performing teams across IT and technical markets – from growing key accounts to managing divisional teams. He brings operational depth, market instinct and international perspective.
Ricky leads TYP’s strategy in the UK and Internationally – working across every timezone and making it look effortless.
Outside of work: Somewhere in Southeast Asia, probably. Ricky has spent years living and working across the region – Thailand, Vietnam, and most places in between – with an appetite for local food, unexpected detours and finding the best coffee in whatever city he lands in.
